Wayseer

Most of Wayseer is free.

One download, every source built in, no account. What it does without a key, it does for anyone, for any purpose. A key adds six things, for one person a year.

Free, from the download

$0 · any purpose, commercial or not · as many machines as you like

  • Open files, this machine, Prometheus and Proxmox VE as one world: CSV, TSV and JSON files mapped in the config; the host it runs on; every Prometheus target and metric, with Alertmanager's alerts; a Proxmox VE cluster's nodes, guests and storage.
  • See Wayseer's own health: frame time, memory, the event bus and the state of every other source.
  • Everything else runs as usual. Without a key, Wayseer says so once as it starts, never nags, and shows the locked sources as locked.

With a license key

$200 business · $50 personal · a person a year

  • Navigate a Kubernetes cluster: nodes, namespaces, pods, services, deployments and replica sets, linked as the cluster links them; restart and scale deployments and delete pods, if your config allows it, each on your Y.
  • Read a SQLite or Postgres schema with foreign keys as links, plus your own queries on an interval as metrics or events; every statement runs read-only.
  • Run modules from others from the marketplace, and your own: a module you write runs under your key, with a developer certificate from Wayseer.
  • Open more than one window over the same world: Geo on one monitor, Topology on the other.
  • Let a script or an agent drive the view through the control socket and wayseer mcp; an action still waits for your Y.
  • Ask the language model a question (Ctrl+J): it answers by moving the view, with a provider you configure.

A personal key is for one individual's non-commercial use; any work for pay, freelance included, needs a business key. One key, one person at a time, on any number of their own machines.

A license key, per person, per year

$200 business · $50 personal

Every release built in the next year, and the last of them for good. Checked on your machine; no account.

Renews automatically each year at the price shown until you cancel. We email the date and total 30 to 60 days before each renewal. Cancel any time from the link in your receipt email; the releases your key covers keep working.

Prices are in US dollars, and the checkout shows your currency. Where prices normally include tax, as in the EU and the UK, they include it; elsewhere, as in the US, the checkout adds any sales tax.

One line of text, checked on your machine.

A key starts with WAYSEER-1., names you as the licensee, and lists the sources and features it covers. Wayseer checks its signature against one built into the app. It never contacts a server to do it, so it works on a machine with no route out, and nothing can switch it off from afar.

Add a key and Kubernetes and SQL start at once, with no restart. Without one, they show as locked in the sources panel and the status strip, and Wayseer says so once, as it starts. It never nags, and everything else runs as usual. A click on a locked source opens >license, where you add a key.

Without a key, Ctrl+Shift+N opens no second window, a question to the model sends nothing, and the control socket answers every request with one refusal. Each says it needs a key, and the first two open >license. Remove a key and no open window closes; new ones stop opening.

Two ways to add one
Paste itCopy it, open >license and press Ctrl+V, or run >license.add. Wayseer checks it before it keeps it, in its state folder, readable only by you.
Name a filelicense_file: ~/keys/wayseer.key in the config, for a key you deploy with the rest of it. Wayseer only reads it. If both are there, the config's wins, and >license says so.

Private. Your key and your name show only in >license. They never go into a log, the language model's context, or a reply to an agent on the control socket. Those learn only that a source or a feature is locked.

A paid key never expires.

Each key comes with a year of updates. Every release built in that year takes it, for good. A release built after it needs a renewed key, and the one you have keeps running with no end date, unless it was refunded. The year is the right to use what is built in it, not a promise of how many releases that is.

It reads the release's date, not your clock. Each release carries the date it was built. Wayseer compares the key with that, never with the machine's clock. A clock that is wrong never locks you out, and setting it back never stretches a key. wayseer --version prints a release's date, and >license shows the releases your key covers.

Installing past your key. If a release is newer than your key covers, Wayseer says so when it starts, naming both dates, and leaves Kubernetes and SQL locked. Everything else runs. It never changes in the middle of a session. Before it installs a release your key doesn't cover, it says what will lock, and undoing the update brings back the one you had.

The end-user license.

Using Wayseer, with a key or without one, is under the Wayseer end-user license, version 2026-10-04. This page sums it up; the license itself says it in full.

The fonts, the map of the land and the libraries Wayseer is built from keep their own licenses, and a key doesn't change them. Every package carries their notices, and you can read them in >license or with wayseer --licenses.
